Project Overview
Project Tiger/CFA Supply Columbia is a distribution warehouse facility for Chick-Fil-A located in West Columbia, SC. Pierre Construction had several different scopes on this project: rain screen aluminum composite panels, bullnose dock canopies, wall hung canopies and a large, extruded aluminum post supported canopy. The ACM system on this project was a “rain-screen” system which uses strips of ACM (splines) at the panel joints rather than sealant.

Project Challenges & Solutions
Challenge: Dock canopy wall was IMP which makes canopy attachment more difficult than concrete tilt wall
Solution: Modified attachment method using exterior plates on the exterior while attaching to continuous angle piece on the interior.
Challenge: Complex interface with existing building envelope
Solution: Custom fabricated transition flashings with compression seals ensured a watertight connection
Installation Process
- Site visit before installation for panel dimension measurements
- Custom fabrication of panels in our shop with a CNC machine
- Field install continuous extrusions to the perimeter of panels
- Panel installation with clip-to-extrusion system
