Aluminum Composite Panels

• New 4 section East Entry Canopy wrapped in Reynobond 4mm ACM
• Additional matching ACM on south elevation between window bands
• More than 300 SF of interior ACM at entryways and around interior glass systems

Custom Fabrication

• 12 custom waterjet 3/8” thick aluminum panels on the North elevation with a powdercoat finish. These with our water-jet partner Perfect Edge.
• 35 custom fabricated 1/8” thick aluminum panels with more than 2000 holes ‘punched’ in each panel with our CNC machine. All panels with a powdercoat finish.

Trellis/Pergola

• Approximately 600 SF of a custom trellis/sunshade structure on the 3rd level of the south elevation. Structure includes both 6”x1” rectangular blades and 2” round pipes toward the front face of the structure. Structure has a powdercoat finish.

When longtime partner New South Construction came to us with another opportunity to work on the Westminster Campus (3rd project in the past 5 years), we knew it would be both challenging and rewarding. Anyone who has been to the campus knows how beautiful it is and how each new building seems to out due the previous.

Working with both New South and the designers at ennead Architects to complete 4 scopes on the project, the result speaks for itself. We worked closely with the team to create the custom aluminum water-jet panels with ‘the’ messaging in them (a Westminster traditional symbol on many of their buildings). We worked with our other long term partners at Perfect Edge to create CAD files based on field dimensions to make sure all spacings were precise and accurate.

Possibly the biggest challenge of the project came toward the end when New South needed help creating the custom interior back-lit panels for the feature wall inside the open-space lobby entrance on the north side. Another supplier could no longer deliver this product and we were asked to step in and help. With not much to go on and no time to work with we quickly created several mockup panels and delivered them to site for review and approval. Making sure to coordinate with both the framework and the electrical needs of the location was key to achieving the desired aesthetic design. After working thru the details and helping with a few solutions we started the process of making the panels in house on our CNC machine. With each panel having several thousand holes, each one took 3-4 hours to complete (and we had to make 35 of them!) The final result is an amazing look to add to a beautiful space.
