Atlas Ministries

Project Overview

PCG completed a custom canopy for Atlas Ministries in Greensboro, Georgia, in July 2025. The project featured a 38’ by 19’ aluminum canopy with powder-coated columns and beams, plus a standing seam metal roof. The main challenge was the long-span design, which required a 15’ projection from the building and a 30’ span between columns. PCG engineered a welded-beam and front-truss system, transported it to the site, and installed it with precision. The project shows PCG’s strength in custom fabrication, structural coordination, and clean installation.

Frequently Asked Questions

Was there anything special about this job that highlights PCG’s custom fabrication capabilities?

This project provided a special challenge in that it required both a 15’ span off of the building and a 30’ wide span between columns. PCG designed a fully engineered system including a welded splice joint of the main front 6x10 aluminum tube beam to accommodate the span and overall width of 38’. This beam was the base of a fully welded front truss that was transported to the jobsite on a 40’ flatbed trailer and hoisted into place on top of the 8x8 columns.

One the front truss was set, the 6x10 purlins were mounted into pre-coordinated wall support and cleanly attached to the front truss. These purlins provided the final support for the standing seam metal roofing which provides the water-proof layer of the canopy system.
