ACM Panels and Canopies in Sumter, SC
e-Vac Magnetics Manufacturing Plant
Project Overview
This project involved an addition to an existing building, introducing a more contemporary office structure. Our scope included aluminum composite panels at the main office, between sections of storefront glass, and along one full wall elevation. These panels helped create a clean, modern appearance.
Our work also included roll-formed canopies and a custom-fabricated galvanized steel oxipit enclosure with a rolling top. The enclosure was designed to cover open chemical canisters while still allowing access for future use.
Location: Sumter, SC
Completion Date: Summer 2025
General Contractor: Evans General Contractors
Architect: LS3P
PCG Project Manager: Jesse Rose
Challenges and Solutions
The primary challenge in this project was ensuring sufficient slope on the upper sides of the panels, to effectively direct water away from the building.
Through close collaboration, our team, the contractor, architect, and associated trades worked efficiently to address this constraint. By reducing the face height minimally, allowed us to integrate the required slope into the design, the team was able to maintain both aesthetic and functional objectives.
The result aligns with the architect’s vision while successfully delivering the performance required for proper water management.
Frequently Asked Questions
Was there anything special about this job that highlights PCG’s custom fabrication capabilities?
There are always times where field fabrication is needed, even in a carefully planned project, and our install crews do a very good job of working through those times.
How did PCG‘s track record and experience serve the needs of this project?
Our relationship with the contractor and architect was key to making some important changes, and in turn, creating the look they wanted, and maintain a watertight system.
Were there any special requests with this project for which PCG was uniquely capable of delivering?
We highlighted the aluminum composite panels in the photo and this case study, but we did a couple of different scopes onsite, and as needed, the contractor added to our scope of work because of our wide range of capabilities.
